Happy New Year! Happy Prosperity Year!

I want to challenge you to move into the New Year with a renewed commitment to your professional speaking career, entrepreneurial pursuits and prosperity.

Did you achieve your professional goals in 2006? Some people complain that there are not enough opportunities. I disagree. I often find that people simply do not take advantage of the opportunities that exist. Professional speaking is a $50 billion dollar industry! I reject the idea that there is a shortage of opportunities. There is only a shortage of success-driven mindsets and “real time” doers – people who put the pedal to the metal and do not stop until they reach their goals.

If you fell short in 2006, don’t repeat it in 2007. Someone once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over again expecting different results.” It’s not easy to change our thinking, but the proof of our ability to change is all around us. The world is changing every day. Technology forces us to re-learn and re-define our skills, our relationships, our careers and our lives. In order to change effectively, we have to ask ourselves a few questions because real change begins with taking a hard look at ourselves and our thinking. So ask yourself a few questions:

Are you evolving or are you resistant to change?

Are you the type of person that sees an opportunity and seizes it?

Are you willing to take risks and try new things?

If you consider yourself an entrepreneur, and you intend to make some positive changes in 2007, let me suggest a New goal for you: to begin the process of building wealth in your life. If you are already on the road of creating abundance in your life, then your goal can be to strengthen your wealth building skills.

Maybe you think that you are not in a position to build wealth and abundance. Let’s change that thinking! Perhaps you don’t have the motivation or the understanding of how to become wealthy. Let’s change that condition! Or maybe you don’t think you can become wealthy and in reality, everyone cannot. Let’s defer judgment until you have taken some action. The truth is, many people do become wealthy and perhaps you are one of them. Let’s test the waters!

Regardless of your attitude toward wealth, everyone can have abundance. Many of us can have wealth; in fact, some people are born with it. But abundance refers to your attitude and thinking -- the first step toward creating wealth. We all know the stories of people who were born into wealthy families or achieved celebrity status only to find themselves penniless at some point in time. Why? They lacked the ability to manage their wealth because their thinking was askew. You create your reality through your thinking which is why the first step on the journey to becoming wealthy is to create abundant thinking.

There is only one question remaining -

How will you use your Power of Voice® to create New Opportunity in 2007?
